2017 Rosé of Pinot Noir from Pike Road Wines
By: Sarah Collins
Sharing a nice bottle of rosé amongst friends during a summer get-away is one of my favorite activities. That’s why we were sure to pick up an extra bottle of Pike Road Wines 2017 rosé during our last visit to their tasting room in Carlton, Oregon a few weeks ago.
Aside: I highly recommend a day trip to Carlton, Oregon! It has a cute small town feel with a ton of wine options to check out. We passed several tasting rooms during our stroll down Main Street and can’t wait to go back for another visit.
We finally had the opportunity to crack it open during a recent trip to the Washington coast with some friends from out of town and it was seemingly a big hit amongst us all. Read on below for a breakdown of our tasting notes:
- Appearance: A glowing light blush color, translucent
- Swirling & smelling: While there is an immediate floral touch to the aroma, this is immediately followed by a jammy sweetness.
- Tasting: Definitely think this wine is one best-served cold. The flavor is quite citrusy with an almost creamy texture.
- Who I’m Recommending This to and Where I’d Drink This: This rosé pairs perfectly with a casual beach trip, trashy beach read and vintage board games.
